My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 has two cracks in the dash at the air registers. I am concerned that the one one the passenger side of the dash will affect the airbag, tearing it upon deployment and contamination of the airbag system from the top of the dash into those components.
This summer the dash on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 truck cracked while driving the truck. The truck had only about 35,000 miles on it when the dash cracked. The crack is from the windshield to the end of the dash. I have read on the internet that is is a problem whit these Dodge trucks.
Cracked dash in 2 different spots. Appears to be a problem with several 2nd gen Ram. I'm worried about airbag safety and durability during an accident.
Dash is cracked on the right side near the vent and air bag. I am concerned that the air bag could be snagged by the cracked plastic and malfunction in the event of a collision.
Was pulling a trailer at 45 mph the vehicle started fish tailing. Without the trailer at 55 mph the vehicle will fish tail. Took the vehicle to Chrysler, and found that it was shaky. The tie rods ends, ball joints, and the check bar malfunctioned on the front of the vehicle. Almost had a wreck. This happened on 24, June 2205. The consumer stated the vehicle was poorly designed, the front of the vehicle was too light for the weight of the engine. There was no grease fitting for the ball joint. The rotors were replaced.
2001 Dodge 1500 quad cab I called the daimler Chrysler in marshall Texas and they told me they have seen a few of the dashboards. I explained it was crumbling. He told me it wouldn't hurt anything as the air bags are bolted in he also stated it was out of warranty. I called the main customer 800 service line that tx dealer gave to me and once again I was told it was out of warranty and they didn't care who I contacted after I talked to them as it was out of warranty. I even told them I would call the better business bureau and they still didn't care. The dashboard has cracks running across the entire board. Will it fall" will it cause an accident" I have pictures that I will be sending when I hear from you.
Dash board cracked from heat. This is a three year old vehicle it has no businesss with a cracked dashboard. My windows are tinted dark and I use a sunvisor! I owned a Kia, yes a Kia, for 7 years and had no problems with the dash. I know about 6 other people with Dodge Ram 1500's with cracked dashboards from about 1999 to 2001. I called Dodge they would not do anything and want $280 to replace the dash with another one that is not going to hold up to the heat! obviously there is a problem and like the others reported here Dodge has done nothing.
The dashboard behind the air bag on the passenger side has ruptured. The consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer and was told that it was due to wear and tear.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram off road with 54000 miles on it and I've already had a new computer put in it, had the transmission rebuilt at 27000 miles because of the torque converter, and my dashboard is cracked all over the place from the heat. I've had nothing but trouble out of this truck and I will not buy another Dodge again.
While driving could step on the brakes pedal and noise will come from bottom of vehicle, and another noise from fuel tank that makes a lot of noise, like bouncing. Could not be corrected by dealer. The consumer was concerned about the fuel tank noise and states that it should be investigated. There is a cluncking noise on take off or stoping due to trans mount failure.
