Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500: Dash keeps cracking in several places. 2 cracks are directly above passenger air bag. Have tried to stop cracking but have been unsuccessfully. Everyday when I first get into truck, I hear the dash start to crack as the inside temperature is reduced to a comfortable level. There appears to be no way to prevent this situation. Some cracks are now proceeding to the front of dash toward occupants. Cracks can be straight or curve several times. Most cracks are exceeding 8 to 12 inches at this time. More cracks develop on a daily basis.

Top of dashboard on 2001 Dodge Ram 2wd severely cracked in four different places. Happened 1 1/2 years ago when truck was barely 3 1/2 years old. Cracks run from defroster vents all the way forward to the end of the panel. Concerned with proper deployment of airbag on passenger side.

The entire dash including sub-frame for my dash on my 2001 Dodge 1500 started cracking and has continued to fall apart. I have read on the internet other complaints about this same problem. I searched for a used dash from used auto parts yards and they indicate they are defective and all crack and fall apart if you attempt to remove them. The dealers charge in excess of $2000 to replace the parts with no warranties against defects.

Dealer couldn\\'t diagnose fuel pump problem. Kept reprogramming computer until total engine failure @ 30,000 km. 10 month fight for engine. 6 weeks to replace in shop. Electrical problems still exist since new. Truck has 77,000 km now. It is totally incapable of towing rv, what truck was bought for. Max fuel mileage empty is 10 mpg, 4 loaded. Excessive smoke. All symptoms verified by outside sources, and Dodge states the problem is with me. Am a former diesel mech, and trucker. Dodge refuses outside diagnosis including cummins. This truck has over 18 months of downtime. Just got truck from dealer today again, was told 2 weeks ago that this engine is toasted, then all of a sudden dealer says nothing is wrong with engine. They didn\\'t even have the courtesy to return phone calls or even to call for me to pick up the truck. Dodge will not even accept fuel logs. Have spent in excess of $20,000 out of pocket to keep this bucket going, for things that should have been warranty and outside diagnosis. Am setting up lawsuit now, as I cannot use this vehicle. It has even failed gov\\'t emmision test. Who cares? thanks

Engine check light 442 due to leak in evaporator hose assembly. My truck in only a 2001 but the dealership says that is normal for Dodge trucks. It is a costly repair and is not covered by my extended warrenty. I know of several other persons who have had the same problem.
