The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact smelled a strong odor of fuel outside the vehicle. He also observed severe corrosion of the fuel tank. The failures occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they recommended that the fuel tank be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unable to be entered into the system. The failure mileage was 67,000 and current mileage was 67,489. Updated 08/14/09. Updated 08/17/09.
