Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

While taking low speed, tight turns with my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 truck the engine stalls out. I'm pretty sure this issue is the same as the NHTSA action number:EA05018. This has happen several times within the last two month. The local Dodge dealer "cleaned" the intake manifold, (charged me $89) but it is still happening.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I was backing up in driveway and the vehicle hesitated, began moving, and then stalled. That same afternoon I was leaving work and the same identical thing happened. I contacted the dealer, and they stated there was a technical service bulletin and to bring it in. I took it to dealer, and they did an update or something. Recently it started hesitating when put in gear and has stalled on several occasions either when being placed in gear or when coming to a stop. It acted like it didn't want to go, then like the transmission was binding, and just before stalling it lunged forward or backwards, depending on direction of travel, before stalling.

This has been a problem on and off for 2 years. Dealer unable to find problem. While driving our 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up this last weekend, as we accelerated in traffic, the truck engine choked and then began to stall. We had just turned on to the highway when the engine power began to fail for the fifth time. We were almost hit by on coming traffic due to the engine failure.
