wheel fell off wheel fell off

As you can see from the photos, my front drivers side wheel, rotor and caliper fell off about 1,000 miles from home. I was told by the repair mechanic that the bearing seized and the tire came off at the steering knuckle. I felt a vibration and luckily I had about 10-15 seconds to slow down to about 45-50 MPH. I had sparks flying about 20' in the air I looked in the rear view mirror saw my tire bouncing down the road. Obviously I had no steering or brakes. Once again, the tire did not hit the cars behind me and I was able to avoid the concrete over pass and stop approximately 100-150 yards down the road on the emergency break down lane.

The REALLY scary part was when I went to the auto body repair shop in my home town ( name upon request) to get an estimate to repair the body damage ($ 2,069.00) the owner of the repair shop told me that he had the EXACT problem with his 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 ( he has a Hemi in his and about 10,000 miles less). He told me that his truck almost flipped but when he hit the embankment it dropped back down. I saw the damage to the street that his truck put in the road ( about a 1/2" groove for about sixty feet).

At my age, I no longer believe in coincidences. I think that Dodge should check and perhaps do a recall before someone gets hurt or KILLED!!

Fortunately the horse shoe that was stuck in a certain part of my body only got half way ranked out!!!!

Thanks

Well the front passenger wheel fell off. Chrysler said that it wasnt a defected part because i hadn't taken to dodge for servicing....So beware....Your wheel will fall off and cause major damage to you and your vehicle UNLESS you go to a dodge dealership and get a oil change. This is bullshit. Guess im calling a attorney
