The left tie rod end dropped off my vehicle while backing into my driveway. There have been recalls issued on similar trucks. Dodge offers no help on my vehicle because recalls are VIN specific. To repair the cost was $1062. If Dodge hadn't redesigned the parts, my cost would have been $0 due to the 3 year/36,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty we purchased with the truck. (it was a used truck when we purchased it.) why haven't all of these trucks been recalled for this issue? I suppose the fact that there have been no deaths or major property damage will be the reason. This is a major hit to me and my family. We need the truck. We need the $1000 it cost to repair. Dodge says the only way they can help me is if the NHTSA expands the recall. I know that won't happen but would you please think about me and my family's dilemma the next time you issue a non-life threatening recall. I thought recalls were all inclusive. Guess I thought wrong. Thanks for listening.

Bought 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 new from metro Dodge in ottawa. Have had numerous front end troubles. Brakes,3sets of front shocks, wheel bearings, outer tie rod ends replaced once at 22000km`S. tie rod ends on streeing are defective again. Dodge wants to inspect & charge for outer rie rod ends after 42000kms on second set. Checking used 2006,2007 & 2008 in Dodge dealer lots outer tie rods have been replaced on trucks in lot. I feel Dodge is covering up a defective design & part troubles on all 3 years. Metro Dodge told me to never bring my truck back for service. The service manager denies that these years of trucks have defective front end parts & design. Please investigate before a major collision with this vehicle. Thank you, steve moore

Had vehicle aligned due to the front end bouncing. Tie rod was replaced and vehicle had a vibration and popping noise from the front end after that. Today I took it to the shop and they said the wheel bearing is worn beyond safe conditions. My VIN did not fall under the current recall but I seem to be having the same problem with my vehicle and my family has been put at risk with this vehicle problem. I have new parts being put on today which is going will be paid out of pocket again. I have driven with this vibration for some time now not even aware that it could possibly be under a recall. A fault this serious could cause death and injury to my family and someone else's.

Driving home from the lake and the wheel locked up and went into the ditch after we had it in Chrysler and it was not fixed. They took it in and gave it back and coming home from work the steering wheel locked up again and I almost hit 3 cars. So went back in to get fixed. Then I was out hunting and my kids were with and the steering wheel locked up and we went in the ditch again. So now I just want to get rid of this vehicle. We have had it in 3 times in one month for the same problem and it is not getting fixed.
