Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the contact heard a scraping noise and the ABS and brake lights illuminated then the rear brakes seized. And the rear brakes seized. The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that the driveshaft became detached and fluid was leaking from the rear differential. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who stated that the rear differential and driveshaft assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 101,309.

He lost control of the vehicle and it spun into a wall. There were no injuries. He attempted to restart the vehicle and place it into drive, but the gear would not stick. The vehicle was towed, but has not been inspected by the dealer. The contact believes that the differentials caused the failure. He called the manufacturer, but they refused to make any repairs. The current and failure mileages were 70,000.
