When the temperature is cold outside, my truck doesn't want to shift out of park. I have to keep pushing the brakes over and over and trying to shift out of park. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds, sometimes it takes 15 minutes. It is really annoying when I'm stuck in a gas station parking lot for 10 minutes with people waiting for me to leave. It has done this for the last two years, but only when the weather is cold. I never have a problem in the summer.

Same problem as others. Won't pull regardless of what gear it is in. Sometimes under high revs the truck will reverse or run really badly in 1st. Been in dealer's shop four days with no possible recommendation for a solution.

Ram 1500 Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

After going through the problem of having my engine replaced just less than a year ago, now my tranny is acting up and it won't shift properly. I can get it into reverse fine, however when I go forward it is hit or miss whether it will shift up to the next gear or not. I have contacted the dealer and I have to have it towed to them and don't know how long it will take because of the large amount of tranny issues they are dealing with right now.

When my 2007 ram 1500 4.7 shifts from 4th to 3rd gear there's a thud it doesn't happen all the time but seems to occur more often when its hot outside, the dealer wants to replace the transmission but can't tell me why my 56,000 mi truck should have new transmission so early, also the rear end thuds into gear when put into reverse, on other forums there's a recall on 2009 dodge 1500 trucks for the spindle nut coming loose, in the differential.

Ram 1500 V6

took vehicle to dealer too many times. they finally replaced transmission. Was told i was getting an extra warranty on the trans, but did not, now trans is going out again without any help. Dodge should have to replace all transmissions on the v6's since the Govt used the peoples money to bail them out. email me, lets get a fight against Dodge going for bad transmissions.

Update from May 3, 2013: Transmission was replaced just underr 34,000 was suppose to get a 100,000 mile warranty on the new one, did not.. Now have to drive with OD off, or it gives serious issues.. DO NOT BUY A DODGE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!

Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L V8 Flex

  • Automatic transmission
  • 61,000 miles

Shifts hard from 3rd to 4th gear when easy on the gas. But when gunned it shifts normal. I recently had the transmission service done to it as scheduled and now its WORSE! When going from 5th gear @ 60-70MPH then gunned it stalls and shifts HARD for a second and then accelerates. I bought it new, when I bought it they were offering the lifetime powertrain warranty for single owners..I also bought an extended warranty on it as well.. lets see how it goes.

Took my truck into dealer Christopher Dodge World, they said they couldn't duplicate it, had other issues they didn't fix also, like popping speakers. Out of both times I took it in for this problem they said the same thing and wouldn't note it on the repair order because there wasn't a problem to note. I took it into Medved South, where I bought it, the sold me a tranny service as the pan was starting to seep, and after that was complete informed me that they were no longer a dodge repair shop, this was not good as I commute and was at 69,600 miles of the extended service contract. To date this problem is not repaired, I have another appointment with Christopher Dodge World 12/7/10, I will update this after the appointment.

Ram 1500 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,000 miles

My 07 Dodge Ram 1500 is a POS , I bought it with 27000 miles on it and since day 1 Ive had problems with it shaking at 55-60 MPH getting stuck in 3rd gear and very slow to move when i first start it. I took it back and instead of fixing the problem they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. I just dropped it off again and this time i told them if they couldn't fix the issue they can keep the piece.

Ram 1500 5.7L

Vehicle at first started to go in and out of 4 low when driving. Dealer said that move selector to 4Low and wait for it to engage. Sometimes it made a "What the hell was that?' noise. Then you move the switch to 4HI until it engages then to 2WD. Thank goodness that thieves don't know about this security system! The problem now is vehicle on starting is in nuetral and I have to reset the button so I can drive. Once vehicle is moving its not a problem but it sucks that you have to go thru the ritual of nuetral, reverse, nuetral, and drive. How the hell do you make sure that for 5 seconds that you have to be in gear that the vehicle doesnt move. Found that you can use your parking brake. The dealer said that the 4WD motor that is bolted on is not covered under the lifetime drivetrain warranty and has to be replaced at a tune of $394 for motor and $90 for labor ( Of course it will be more).
