The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the two front tire lug nuts were loose. The lug nuts was tighten, but the failure recurred. The contact replaced the lug nuts independently, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000.

The lug nut caps swelled and the wrench the vehicle was equipped with would not fit over the lug nuts. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the warranty would not cover the repair cost. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000. Updated 11/08/11 the decorative cap, over the lug nut is was too large due to the inside lug nut rusting. The factory lug nut wrench won't fit the lug nut. Updated 11/14/11
