Takata recall. I have been on a repair list at the local dealership since late December of 2015 and am told that as of 3/10/16 they do not expect to have the parts available to repair my vehicle for quite some time. This seems to be far beyond a reasonable time for this repair.

Purchased a used 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 big horn P/U truck from mooresville motor company in mooresville, nc, last week. I noticed the recall on the carfax and "assumed" it had been repaired. I went to www.moparconnect.com and looked up the recall using the VIN. The status states that the driver airbag inflator must be replaced, and that the repair parts are available. I placed a call to the Chrysler group recall assistance center and was told that the parts are not available..... I am very concerned and upset. The young lady at the assistance center told me that the parts were still being tested and that there is no estimated date that they will be available"?????so......what if we have an accident and the airbag deploys and seriously or fatally harms someone?????this vehicle should not have been allowed to have been sold, period! not until the parts are available!!!! I am now afraid to ride or drive this vehicle and I definitely don't want my children or grandchildren in it. I need to know when will parts be available; what do I drive until then; and why was this vehicle even sold??"
