Problem 1. Instrument cluster continually loses bus and shuts down while driving without any loss of power. Instruments go down briefly and come back on followed by windshield wipers making one pass.

Problem 2. Fan motor continually comes on and off on its own.

Problem 3. Blend door actuator has broken the blend door hinge. (This is a complicated one) Recall A17 addresses the actuator problem by replacing it...it DOES NOT address any damage it caused to the door itself. Furthermore, Dodge redesigned the lower end box that houses the doors and made the new resigned lower end box incompatible with the existing control head. This is forcing me to have to purchase a new control head AND lower box. All due to and directly related to a recall on the actuator problem.

After months of being in and out of the dealer with NO resolve but hundreds of dollars of my money spent to trouble shoot the issues, I decided to see if I could find an answer on my own.

I believe that all 3 issues are related. Although the control head is working, I believe it has a short causing the occasional loss of ground to the fan blower and the occasional loss of buss to the instrument cluster.

However, Since the New control head is 3X more expensive than the original and has a different part # than the original, getting it replaced under the warranty is out of the question! WHAT!!

The dealer refuses to acknowledge the control head as being the culprit??? HELP!!!

I've seen several others with the same complaint on this site and personally, I'd like to start a class action suit if for no other reason other than the fact that Dodge will NOT stand behind this product and requires the owner to pony up the cash to fix a problem that seems to be persistent with this particular make and model. Anybody out there share my feelings on this matter? Feel free to let me know.

No defrost, no heat, and it worked last winter. I had to take it in because of the knocking sound from inside the dash, it was the second time this issue had to be fixed, that was last year. Them it started knocking again so I took it back in, but because it wasn't a loud knocking they didn't work on it. So now all I can guess is that this actuator issue is possibly why I have no heat

Heater/AC stopped working right after I had Recall Service done to "reprogram HVAC control head and inspect/replace Actutor". Within month after recall service work performed, ac and heater stop working and dealership tells me HVAC Control Head is now bad and needs replacing to the tune of $386.00. They say it has nothing to do with HVAC Recall and the work they performed. Dodge Customer Service give me same speech. Not their fault, etc. etc. I just find it very strange that after my truck was serviced for this recall notice, not the same part is "bad" and I have to replace it at my expense. Come on Dodge---stand behind your product. Shopping for another truck for someone else in the family. Already own this Dodge and one other. However, done with Dodge products as I am tired of the recall notices and them not standing behind their (faulty) products! Will try Ford this time as my Ford has given me no problems at all!!!!

Is anyone else having these issues???

Morning of February 8, 2012 my 2009 Ram started with a knocking sound on my dashboard. I was approximately 5 min from my office. It went away after about 30 seconds. On my way home the sound started again and my heater did not produce any warm air. Today it knocked when I started but went away after 30 seconds but the heater no longer produces warm air.
