what is up with dodge ram steering ? i have a 98 2500 diesel slt .
the steering has something wrong that feels like something is binding in the freeplay while moving the wheel to the left.
the steering box has been replaced once already, at about 25,000 miles, different symptoms. it was under warranty then.
the truck is difficult to drive down the road, with virtually NO freeplay in the steering wheel. it seems to catch, almost lock. i am certain the problem is in the box , as i detached the shaft that connects the column to the box, and can feel it on the box while turning the input shaft with pliers .
is this a common problem? why hasn't dodge recalled this?
this is a very unnerving feeling , while driving. should i park it? will it be warrantied since it has been replaced once already?
thanks for any info
