Ram 2500 Lst Laramie 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 176,835 miles

I had just bought this Dodge 2500. Within one week, when I went to start the engine it would not continue to run. I could start the engine, but I had to stay on the gas to keep it running. If I tried to let it idle it would stop.

I had to get it towed to the repair shop, but when I got it there it ran fine. This is an intermittent problem, but an obvious problem with the fuel system. A rough quote was 500 + labor to replace the fuel pump system. As far as I am concerned I will NEVER buy a dodge again. I though they were good with trucks, but with the cracked to hell dash, the rotted converter, the bad fuel pump, god knows what else I cannot trust them to ever make a good vehicle. Do Not Buy A Dodge. I'll pay my dues on this truck because I am stuck with it, but when I can, I will by either a Ford or a Titan

Ram 2500 SLT V6 Diesel

  • Manual transmission
  • 137,000 miles

We had just went to a livestock auction so we were pulling our stock trailer, before entering on to I-5 our 1999 dodge 2500 diesel lost all power. We had to have it towed to the nearest Dodge dealer along with our stock trailer, the cost $3150.00 plus towing of $124.00. I researched the internet regarding my problem and found numerous complaints about the same problem, so I called Dodge to see if a recall had been issued, no was the answer! When the fuel injector fails there is no warning signs, the engine turns over, but does not start! I'm glad I didn't purchase any animals!

Ram 2500 Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 175,000 miles

My husband purchased a 1999 Dodge 2500 Diesel truck 3 weeks ago. It was from a buy here pay here, so he had to put $1000 down and make $100 a week payments. All of a sudden it shut off while driving and wouldn't start up again. He had it towed to a mechanic. We were informed that the fuel pump was not communicating with the ECM. The first option was to replace the ECM. He found an ECM for $495. He purchased it, brought it to the mechanic. The mechanic replaced the ECM, but was still getting a problem code. Finally, he informed us that it was the fuel pump. The part alone is around $2,000. Unfortunately, we do not have this kind of money. My husband relies on a truck for his job. We tried calling the place where he bought the car. They informed us that the truck was as is.....GREAT!!!! So, we bought a lemon!!!! My husband will never buy a Dodge again!! So, now we are out $1800 that we put into this vehicle for nothing........wonderful!!!
