Like so many other Dodge truck owners, my dash has cracked and busted to the point that it is useless and now a safety hazard. This is my second Dodge truck...but it will be my last. Dodge is not taking any action to correct these problems so how can they expect customers to remain loyal to their product. Vote with your wallet and take your business elsewhere...I will, provided I can sell/trade my truck in its present condition.

Shame on you Dodge, you just lost another (previously) loyal fan!

crack in the dashboard crack in the dashboard crack in the dashboard crack in the dashboard

I've had this truck since it was new and overall it has been a great truck, however the dashboard has completely imploded. I beleive this is a significant safety issue as the pieces range in size from small to large and they are razor sharp in some places. I purchased a carpet dashcover and have basically ignored the issue, however I can no longer ignore this. There is practically nothing to support the carpet dash cover up!!

I was a GM truck owner before this and if it were not for the Cummins engine I never would have purchased this truck. Dodge needs to step up to the plate and fix this problem!!

My Dash got so bad within the last 2 years that I cut my hand 3 times requiring medical attention from just cleaning my inside windshield.

I never checked into getting it fixed as I had other costly issues such as burned out injection pump (twice) that was under warranty that Chrysler (Daimler at that time) would not cover due to bad fuel pump....costing me meg-a-bucks. I ended up adding a idiot light sensor monitoring the fuel pressure. Plus I added two fuel pumps...one in the gas tank and one external so it would not drop below 4 lbs pressure. A law suit class action is needed..........Yes !!

The dash board is cracked in 6 places. Pieces are starting to fall into Dash. I will have to glue together and install a cover. I can't believe Dodge can standby and say there isn't a problem. If or when somebody has an accident and a shard of dash kills somebody they will pay. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM!!

yeah well my dash is cracking everywhere also!. And had my tranny re-done too right after the warranty ran out, like thats why I waited til 2001 to get my truck I figured they had the darn things right by then. Hell dodge here in coshocton wanted $2,500 to fix it!after they drapped me $1800 telling me it was this and that! Then I just took it to RACCO transmissions and they knew right off the bat what it was! lol (imagine that!).Well the guy told me at RACCO it would cost me $1800 to rebuild it, I told him dodge here wanted $2500 to do it, he just laughed and told me that dodge here brings all their transmissions over to them to re-do!!(imagine that!).Well they fixed it in a day in and half and RACCO saved all the parts that where bad, from there I went straight to the dodge here in coshocton put the parts on the head's desk and ask him if he knew what these parts where from? He didn't know lol.I told him I wanted my money back from all the times u charged me saying it was this and that when it wasn't!.I finally got $800 back and yeah my air cont. don't work either they said they had to pull my dash off to get to the problem there!!lol they wanted to do that for me instead of giving me the money, told them I don't use it anyways lol

This is dam disgrace, to take so much care of your truck, just notice some cracks and while driving the whole dash crumble in, This is an eyesore. This sh*t should be a recall.

Ram 2500 2500 Cummings

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,928 miles

My truck's dashboard is cracking and pieces are falling out. That is only the beginning of the problem. Since apparently the dashes on all Dodge trucks are failing, it is impossible to find a salvaged replacement dash. I have been told by other Dodge truck owners that factory dashes are on backorder, and have not been redesigned- so $500-$800 gets a customer a replacement dash, but it will only last 3 years. I could go on, but I am certain that you understand what I am telling you. Since I cannot afford to replace my dash with a factory one, I will need to continue driving my truck with the cracked dash until pieces of it fall down behind the dash causing electrical problems and whatever else. This will result in the vehicle being dangerous, if not impossible to drive.

Ram 2500

Dodge needs to fix my dash it is crack from front to back and side to side. Previous owner covered it with a carpet dash mat, I removed it only to find the damage as I first heard of this issue. The fuel pump went out which I understand is also common practice around 85,000 miles. THE DASH NEEDS TO BE FIXED

Ram 2500 SLT 5.9L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission

Dashboard started with a small crack then completely disintegrated. Looked kind of like peanut brittle once large chunks began to break apart. I bought a plastic dash cover which was pretty easy to install. Overall, I like the truck, but Dodge should have recalled the dash issue.
