Heading out for vacation with the truck loaded, rear brake metal line blows on the interstate. Had a 99 Dakota with the same crappy brake line issues. Maybe the last Dodge I buy. Have an 88 Toyota pickup and never had an issue.

brake line fitting corroded

Brake line metal components corrode. Should be a safety recall. The picture is of the brake line bracket and connector at the rear of the truck just before connecting to the splitter located on the axle. The actual rubber brake hose was in good condition but the metal connectors fell apart. Lucky for me, I just started the truck and was still in my drive way when it blew.

Contacted Chrysler and they did nothing about it and stated that it was the first time they heard of this problem. Contacted NTSB and filed a safety complaint. Hopefully they take care of this issue before someone gets seriously injured or killed.
