Ram 2500 6.7L 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Best truck i ever owned, great fuel mileage, but that check engine light came on two or three months after i got it and i took it in to get it fixed. They told me i had to pay them $40 for fuel and they put almost 100 miles on my truck, then after about two months it came on again so they told me to take back and by the time i got there the light was off and they told me there was nothing they could do and if it came on again bring it back as soon as possible and that if it didn't run bad or fuel mileage got real low it wasn't anything to worry about, now it's been on for two month's running great but i wonder if this will affect my warranty.

I retired from the steel industry after 32 yrs & thought i would give myself a treat with a new truck that would enjoy the rest of my life.Started researching in May for Dodges, engines, accessories, body style ,etc. Picked the body ,4door,red,leather,kick butt radio, fold down dvd player, you name it ,it had it.It didn't have sunroof cause I couldn't afford the mega-cab,but all else was there.$54,000 worth.Got it for $47,000,good deal I thought.Let me go back and add that I bought a similar 2001 Ram new & that truck was a bulletproof animal! It had the 5.9 and while it wouldn't win any drag races,it could pull the earth out of orbit!Never let me down, never cost me a cent(other than normal maintenance) just ran.Drove it to Fla. 5 times ,1000 miles 1 way, towed, hauled, pulled, all good.

So I bought the 07 expecting the same.Wrong! The day they called me to pick it up......IT WOULDN'T START! The owner of the dealership was there and was VERY embarrassed .I paid cash for this truck & he wanted to be there.Well the tech said it low on fuel they put a gallon in took it and filled it up.To get to the point I had 5 no-start conditions,22 check engine lites,2 seat belt retractors, and 2or3 other various & sundry problems. At 30,000mi. no fix and I'M getting antsy. To the dealerships credit they did what they were told to do by Chrysler so really not their fault.I even went so far as Cummins engineers to get an answer.I was told by the guy I talked to that "We begged them(Chrysler&M.B.)not to put that on our motors, and they ignored us."Now I see why.He also said that motor is NOT designed for light duty.I was made to have the hell run out of it 24-7.

So at 40,000 mi. I got a lawyer out of Cleveland OH.& 7 months later I turned the truck back to Chrysler and got a check for $47,000.Not too bad,but I went through a lot in that time.I got pissed at the guy that done the settlement,he said I was getting too much for a truck that had 44,000. I took offense got pretty close to him & told him for the B.S. I had gone thru,it wasn't near enough! He never said anything else.I have since moved to FLA. and drive a lot more at higher speeds,so ,believe it or not I'm looking for another one like it! I'm all MOPAR what can I say?

Ram 2500 Big Horn Edition 6.7L Cummins

I bought this truck new from Fenton Motors of Stillwater, Oklahoma, which I would advise anyone to stay far away from. After they had my 05 Dodge in the shop for a month. I had to be out of town for business, and told them that I needed my truck by Friday. Friday rolled around, and still no truck. I was to be on the road for about 6 weeks, so a rental vehicle was out of the picture. I needed a truck that day, so I had to buy the 07, and I had to buy one there because they had my other truck in the shop and I couldn't take it anywhere else. So needless to say, they did not work with me on the price at all. So I get the new truck and I like it until the problems start. My check engine light has came on 5 times now, and they have replaced my turbo, replaced the particulate filter, replaced sensors, and it still comes back on. I took it back in today because it came on again. I believe this will be my last Dodge vehicle. It has put me out of business too much.

i just bought my 2500 truck. i was lead to believe it was a 2008. on the way home the check engine light comes on. i turned around went back to crown dodge. when i told them the light came on they said they would change the oil on the fallowing Monday . i then realized this wasn't the 2008 i had just driven . the truck i had just driven had running boards an this one didn't. i said to the finance guy , hay this contract says used on it , you just assured me it was a new truck with , demo / unwind miles , not a truck that had been sold to some one else .so they wrote me a new contract that said new and said they would change the oil on the fallowing Monday t told them , BULL, CRAP! i was lead to believe i was getting a 2008 , and a truck that hadnt been abused or ran over the scheduled oil change periods,as i looked through the papers i found one in the truck that stated the trucks manufactured warranty had started 10/26/2007, and may have defects of almost every components in the truck.i told the sales manager i expected to get a new 2008 truck that i had previously driven. he told me the contract i signed said 2007 , and i would just have to take this truck home and be happy with it. i left the truck there and tried to get help from consumer complaints , the BBB, and the DMV, no luck in any timely manner,so tomorrow im going to go pick up this truck with an abused motor, that coast me 45,969.00. so as i see it this sales manager has got a personal issue with me now because if a person cant get any help from the law, or government in the way i was shanghied i guess its up to me to handle my business,oh and i forgot to mention that during the negotiation of the price ., i complained of a upset stomach, one of the sales reps told me he would get me some water and something to help my stomach. . . later , my son , who works at cvs pharmacy , told me it ;looked like what was called a norco . pain pill. now if thats not a criminal sales practice , i dont know what is .

Ram 2500 2500 6.7L Diesel Cummins

  • Manual transmission
  • 7,500 miles

I bought my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Cummins about 6 months ago. Just a couple months later my check engine light came on. I took it in to the dealership and they ran a software update which cleared the light and sent me on my way. A few weeks later, the light was back. I took the truck in again (annoyed now since this is leaving me out of work). They explained to me that there is a sensor that is collecting soot from not using the engine enough. They said that I "basically need to tow a heavy load and run it on the freeway to blow it out". They did the software update [again] and replaced the sensor. I use my truck daily as I am a landscape contractor and am constantly hauling loads of rocks, blocks, dirt, sand, etc [isn't this enough wear and tear?]. Well, the light is back on again with only 7500 miles on the truck. I am at my wits end with this problem [that they can't seem to fix]. My dilemma is whether or not to ignore the signal and keep driving [will I risk voiding my warranty and/or risk making more problems?], demand the dealership take the truck back and make another choice, or keep fighting them on this issue [of which I am already sick of]. I've read several other complaints, yet nobody has an answer.
