started with an annoying humm and gradually got bad enough to hear over the radio. Performing the repair myself to save $$$hundreds. Dealer wanted $265.00 each plus labor, etc. My cost for SKF bearings from NAPA $240.00 for both. Borrowed necessary special tools from Autozone. Had a struggle getting the hub assembly removed from the knuckle while still installed.

My girlfriend got a 2004 Dodge Stratus For her graduation present. After a trip to Florida and back to Jackson, MI, everything was still fine. We went up north to Sault Ste. Marie which is about 320 miles from home. The trip went well on the way up there. About two weeks after getting there, we had a bad storm and lots of rain fell. After a small (20 miles) trip, I heard a rubbing sound up front and I felt it through the floor. After 17 years around cars I had never heard this sound or problem. I called a mechanic that I know, and he said it was the wheel bearings. Now I think dodge really stands for "Does Offer Down Grade Equipment." I like the way this car looks, how nice it is all the way around, but not the problems we're having with it.

I am so upset with this freakin car. I just put new struts on the back and new mounts and that cost over 700.00 dollars and now the darn wheel bearings are going. I am really upset with this whole situation and I would advise everyone and anyone not to buy any Dodge products. This has really ticked me off to no end and I just do not need this as stated previously I just put new struts and mounts on the back June 11, 2008 and had to replace my front brakes and rotors this past spring; so this damn car is becoming a money pit indeed. Well thank you for letting me vent and BUYERS BEWARE!

I hate this car! It has never ran smoothly however when it started making horrific noises when i turned, i took it in to get it checked. It was discovered that my wheel bearing had gone bad after only 55,000 miles!!! Well, i shelled out the money and got it fixed, and low and behold 3 weeks later the other wheel bearing went bad too!!! If i still didn't owe on this piece of sh*t car, it would've been gone long ago. It still drives like crap. I've also had to replace both front and back breaks. I can understand the fronts, but the back breaks shouldn't have gone yet. I take my car to a friend mechanic of mine and he said the wheel bearings and back breaks should not have went already!!! I am scared to drive this car on the highway as it shimmies and shakes. The car has always been really loud too.
