CarComplaints.com Notes: Say what you will about the styling of the Ford Edge, but the bottom line is owners seem to love this vehicle. That is, of course, except in the case of it's dangerous, worrisome and unexplained issues with random engine stalling.

Our data suggests an early defect trend, as owners of the 2007-2008 models have started posting their accounts of what happens when you're driving down the road and the engine just stops. Some at high speed, some at low speed but always a random shutdown of the engine, electrical and power steering.

Time will tell if this becomes a widespread issue, but there's no drying the seriousness of the problem. With that in mind, we're flagging the Edge with our "Beware of the Clunker" rating until the situation improves.

I bought the vehicle used and I was told that it ran fine and there were no issues with the automobile. And then it started having warning issue lights and then I started having problems with steering and holding in the road and it begain popping when I turn the vehicle to the left. And then the recall with the fuel tank I am scared of the vehicle and I do carry children in it. The used car lot I got it from will not do an inspection on it. So I would like to have it looked at and see if does need to be fixed as so i don't have a accident and see about getting the gas tank fixed. I don't drive it very fast at all and won't take it a long distance.to scares to go far in

I have a fuel leak, brought it to my standard shop and they informed me that the fuel tank has rusted through from the top of the fuel tank and needs a complete replacement. I have called Ford and they explained that my vehicle was inspected inspected recall 14s22 in March of 2016 and deemed no repair was needed, so no additional repair would be covered.

For 2-3 weeks, smelled gas vapors when we got near the car to go somewhere. I got under the car and took a photo of a rust spot with gas staining near it. It looks like it was part of a recall (14V682000) but our car was not included. When I asked the dealer about it they said they took care of the recall on one of our previous visits. I had to pay for a new gas tank.

My car was running rough using more gas got a coil code for my number 1 coil.bchanged plugs etc.. still running bad. Took it to Ford put on there computer and it came back as the PCM. Which can cause your car to catch fire to stop suddenky in middle of road use way more gas ruin all of your plugs and coils again. Why would Ford not fix this problem"why is this a problem?what if someone dies? then what" I have reiciepts upon reciiepts. Why are we the consumers the one who has to pay for your faults. I use my car for work. I take care of my cars and drive them like a lady should. No rough business in my car. Now I cant drive car because your PCM new is 1000. This will forever discourage me from buying another Ford. I dont understand how you can just ignore what is going on with alot of Ford Edges. One would think that your reputation would be important to you. It is not the driver or owners fault it is whomever made these computers. It happens to Edges with low to high miles. It doesnt matter. Its faulty computer that you need to care of.

Fuel leak and major water corrosion to undercarriage of car. Tried to get wheel barrings done and was told it would have to be welded off and on. I am still paying on this car and it is unsafe. They priced this car at 10000 with finance charge when I was told the car was 6500 I put 1500 down plus 746 make up downpayment. I have still been paying on it and I do not believe I should be because it cant be worth that much if this was a flood car. The car make a loud grinding noise which is the wheel barring but cannot be easily fixed. And will cost me alot of money while im still paying

"takata recall" we have tried reaching out to several dealerships for the past year regarding both of our recall notices (airbag and fuel tank). Every time we received one we have contacted (3) nearby Ford dealerships in grand rapids, every dealership for the past year continues to inform us they do not have the parts and services and to call back in a month. Every month for the past year we have called - still no parts! we are aware this car came from Florida from our report, which we purchased in Michigan. Today, October 26th, 2018 received the settlement claim. It states we cannot be apart of the claims because we have not serviced our vehicle yet. However, we have tried for one full year to get this vehicle serviced! at this point in time, we are now considering hiring an attorney and attending the hearing on December 11th, 2018. We would like to receive notification how to get our recalls resolved and serviced in Michigan, since noparts are available (on-going over one-year of calling). Please contact me directly how we are able to proceed?! The car was going about 60mph started vibrating, losing speed, RPM went crazy, and continued to lose power and shake when it died it shook while in parkand had a bad smell would not crank after that in the middle of an intersection in saint louis,
