CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar” warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

More clearly the My Ford Touch System crapped out, None of the usual fixes would work, Ford said the unit burnt out. It was out of warranty so it costs $1,000 to fix. The new unit is only under two years warranty

Touch screen goes out, leaving me without radio, Bluetooth, ability to use defrosters, or see in rear of vehicles. It also leaves me without control of seats. It happens intermittently, but last time it didn't come back.

I changed fuse, radio came on for a few seconds. Last time I got it to work by kicking panel housing fuse box. There is only one 20 amp fuse controlling so much. I find this unbelievable.

From the 'Door Ajar' warning light, doors not locking because the warning is on, back up camera not functioning properly, dome lights that won't turn off, Sync system that won't work right, along with the radio that sometimes won't turn on and sometimes won't turn off even after turning off the car, taking the key out, getting out of the car and locking it (only it doesn't register that it is locked because of the Door Ajar problem) -

I'm confident that the Ford Edge electrical system has serious problems that happened during manufacture!! I've seen TOO MANY of these very complaints to think otherwise.

I am worried that my car is going to stall or start on fire next, as many others have reported!

While driving the car shuts almost OFF, you can drive it at 1 MPH or shut off & restart. The engine light does come on when this happens, daily. I had it towed to Ray Skillman, Greenwood, IN. I got a call from service dept, the computer shows nothing wrong & they drove it 20 miles, nothing happened, charged $110. I called service mgr at Ray Skillman & he claimed there was nothing more they could do. We only drive within a 3 mile radius of our home due to health problems right now.

A regional; mgr called & suggested we take the service mgr for a drive. Otherwise they have no solution to our problem, unless it would stall while with the Ray Skillman employee. I've been in ICU 4 times since this started & my wife is also handicap. This is our only vehicle

My ford edge has not worked correctly since the day I drove it off the lot. The sync system is a joke. I has been replaced twice and updated 3-5 times. My husband and I both work and it's hard to keep bringing it in for service. I also have a 6 year old which complicates moving car seat, etc. They will give me a rental, but that's a hassle as well. If I brought it in everytime the sync system did not work - I would probably be in twice a month. Each time I turn the car off if there was a problem - it most of the time resets until something else goes wrong. You name it - blue tooth, radio, navigation, back up camera, screen goes black or does not turn off, side car detection (or whatever you call them) both go on and do not turn off, phone will ring back, heat fan stuck on high, blinker went on to the right and would not turn off until replace for two days, etc., etc.

When your 6 yr old son says - dont talk to her - she never listens - you know there is a serious problem.

I had faith in hopes that it would be fixed, but it's not and probably will never be fixed. I've been in for service multiple times and the system has been completely replaced . . . . . So I thought since I have not gotten anywhere with Ford I've gone to trying to sell it ---- but are getting hammered in the trade in or blue book. It's a joke and I feel severely taken for a ride. Literally. I hope someone is listening :)

I was on the way to see my Mother in the nursing home- outside temp 98 degrees- the car motor DIED while I was driving down the road- I was on the side of the road in heat for over 2 hours before wrecker came- took 2 weeks to come up with a solution to fix- then right at Christmas time- I get a message that the battery is week- thi is a brand new vehicle- barely over 4000 miles on it- I am worried that it will quit again- this really ticks me as I woourked 40 plus years to retire and get a nice vehicle and this is what I get- waited 6 weeks for it to be ordered and delivered.
