CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

Ford Escape 2007, approx. 30,000 miles, gas pedal sticking, can not accelerate properly and smoothly. Continually occurs under cold conditions, dangerous with ice on roads when slow acceleration is needed. Cannot accelerate quickly when needed which is also dangerous.

Sinc E purchasing the vehicle air bag light went on and off, and there was a smell of gas throughout the vehicle. Taken to Ford dealership in March, 2007, but dealership did not find the cause of the problem.
