CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

Last summer I couldn't figure out why my back tires were making so much noise. I figured I would get new tires and that would solve it.

Well, I put new tires on it and it just got worse. I took it to a dealership and he test drove it returning a verdict of a bad rear differential. NICE.

I had it replaced with a junk yard differential and I was out 1,700.

The dealer said it was so rare for this to go bad. Of course, I won the lemon prize on this car.

After about 30,000 km I experienced very noisy tires. I informed the dealer and was told that there was no problem with the tires installed or the Escape. The noise from the tires was such that it was impossible to carry on a conversation while driving between 80 to 100 km. My only solution was to install new tires, which I did at my own cost. The noisy tire problem disappeared until I had 35,000 km on the new tires and now it is just as tormenting as it was with the first set of tires. I think that it is a blatant disregard on behalf of Ford to refuse to correct this problem or even admit that it is their problem. Sell the vehicle but forget the buyer seems to be their motto.

Ford Escape 2007 made in Ford Philippine, and used in Indonesia

Noisy from Wheels is very upset. The problem can not be fixed till now.

2008 the dealer have given 4 new tire to solve the problem, but that is only reduce a bit of noise, and after 1 year the noisy come again, and the worst noise is on 110 - 140 km/hr.

I check to other friend who used the same car and that's really defect of factory, because my friend also have same problem.

Whether Ford Indonesia must recall for this problem ?
