This is an unacceptable repair you should never be expected to make. How many cars actually every leak transmission fluid from somewhere other than the gasket itself. It is so bad Ford actually makes kit for this and a tool. That is how much of a known issue this is.

I took my vehicle in for a routine oil change. The mechanic discovered transmission oil leaking they figured out it was from the transmission cooler. I took it to the Ford Dealership and they informed me that the part would need to be replaced costing $860.

It is to my surprise that this problem is common in the Escape. I have never had to make such a major repair on a vehicle that is only 2yrs old. It seems to me that Ford has added an extra cost to owning a Ford Escape. Bad quailty parts make for bad cars.
