Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owned a 2015 Ford Escape. After merging to the side of the road, the air bag deployed and knocked the contact unconscious. After awaking, the contact stated that the vehicle crashed into a barrier. The contact sustained unknown injuries that did not require medical attention. The contact was unable to confirm if a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technician was unable to determine the cause of failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. In addition, the contact mentioned that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V406000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 9,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. While attempting to get out of the way of an ambulance, the vehicle drove over a patch of black ice. The vehicle slid to the right side of the road and traveled down a ten foot embankment. The vehicle crashed into a wall and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The driver suffered a mild concussion and lacerations on both sides of his ears. The contact received medical attention on the scene. The dealer and manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 2,361.
