Jan. 24, 2019 power steering assist light came on had no power steering. Contacted langlade Ford in antigo, wi took it there they told me I had to replace the epas complete system and it was done on Feb. 1, 2019 at cost of $1683.41 as my 3 year warranty had expired. I wrote to Ford in dearborn, mi about it, and received a letter from them on Mar. 8, 2019 they stated "comments were received, documented and sent to their appropriate department". they need to have a recall on this as it is a safety issue and luckily I was able to drive it at all with no power steering I am fortunate it did not lock up on me. Thank you for letting me submit this, I know I am not the only one that's had this problem.

While driving on 85N in atanta, ga, while roughly driving at a speed of 65mph in the middle lane at 7am on Friday, January 12, 2018, the battery light came on and the car shut completely off and with no warning! I take excellent care of the car with routine maintenance and have approximately 51K miles on it. For this car to turn off in the middle of morning rush hour traffic on an atlanta major interstate, not only endangered my life but the lives of hundreds of other drivers! thankfully there was a gap in the traffic behind me so I was able to guide the car out of the middle of the interstate since while the car was still in movement but with no power. I barely made on to the shoulder. After sitting on the shoulder for over 30 mins, waiting on a tow truck, the car finally started back up. I still had it towed to the Ford dealership where I purchased it and have my maintenance done on the car. After having the car for 3 days I was told that they can not "duplicate the error". diagnostics were run on the car multiple times and no issues were found. This is unacceptable. It is not normal for a car to turn off in the middle of a major interstate and for the cars computer to not have a record of the shut down. In addition to that, what if it happens again but I am injured or injure someone else! I've looked at other complaints for the same type of vehicle and other motorists have experienced the same type of problem; the car turning off while driving. Something is seriously wrong with the 2016 Ford Escape and Ford isn't properly addressing the problems!

I was driving my car and the AWD and traction control lights come on and I get a message that they are disabled and/or inactive. I take the vehicle to the dealer and they get a code. They reset it and it fits not go back on. Ok. a week later I'm back in with the same warning, plus I lost hill assistance. They get the same code and want my vehicle to try and make it happen again, why!? they put 800+miles on my cat and said nothing happen. Yet not even two days and I got the AWD and hill assistance warning again!!! at the time these sensors went, I was only doing around 5-10 mph.

While driving at highway speeds (roughly 70 mph) my vehicle completely turned off with no warning and said "engine fault. Service now". by the grace of god I did not get rear ended. I successfully restarted the vehicle and made it home. The same thing happened the next morning, this time on city streets going roughly 20 mph during rush hour. Against, I was beyond lucky to have not gotten injured or worse and there was no warning again.

I was cruising at about 35-40mph on city street. Suddenly the motor practically quit. The vehicle immediately slowed down to about 5 mph. The "stability control" warning light came on. Luckily, there were no vehicles behind me on that 9:20 pm Sunday 7/24. The problem was solved after doing what the manual advised: Turn off the motor, restart (after a few minute at least, I found out). The next morning and after starting the motor, the check engine light came on. I had Ford dealership check the vehicle that morning.

Brought 2016 in November 2015 and check engine light was on and off on streets or highway and stayed on always. Truck been in the shop since 3/22/16 til 4/13/16 than 4/19/16 til date. Reasons replaced computer PCM, repaired wire twice, replace chips, replace wire again. Mccarthy Ford and regional manager not good with follow ups or good faith agreement.
