Headlight switch knob snapped off. Called Ford parts counter at my local dealership and was advised that this was occuring a lot in 2001 model Excursion and F250 models which both use the same switch. Employee stated that he had received numerous calls requesting the knob. Searched the internet and found that the 2000 model Excursion had a recall for this same problem [NHTSA recall no. 01V075/Ford recall no. 01S09] the 2000 model and the 2001 model appear to me to have the same headlight switch as the reacall notification did not start until March 26, 2001.
