I'm the youngest out of my family and I got passed down our Expedition, I didn't complain cause I basically grew up with thing. It was a daily driver and a vacation vehicle for 11+ years. BUT about 2 years ago we started to notice a squeaking when we went over bumps and it just kept getting worse from there. It's now to the point of if you try to turn on any uneven surface it sounds like someone is slowly rolling off a squeaky mattress. When it was a new problem we were at like 390,00 ish miles so we weren't complaining but now that it's mine it can get a bit embarrassing pulling into high school with the squeakiest vehicle there. I don't want to complain cause it's a free vehicle basically, but my parents don't want to invest in it cause they think it's only a matter of time before it breaks down, but it's at 409,000 now and I don't see it quitting anytime soon... So if anyone know how to stop the noise, email me or something please!

Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200,100 miles

Bought a 97 eddie b 4x4 expedition runs great but has several little pains. I have 240,ooo miles but still have plenty of power that amazes me but the front in rattles when i hit bumps. Ive changed shocks and upper control arm with ball joint. Also door ajar light comes on for no reason and everytime i shut the drivers door it locks (thats my biggest annoyence.) I have to go unlock the drivers door from the passengers side every time i close the door. VERY ANNOYING

Expedition 4.6L

Great vehicle, just that noise in my front suspension is really annoying. Changed the tie rods, changed the brakes and roters, and that squeaking sound is still there. Overall great vehicle, annoying noise.

I really like the vehicle, we bought in from the in-laws who bought it new, so we have been the only owner. The only problem is that it is so squeaky, people look at it from blocks away, it squeaks when it turns, when it hits bumps. I guess one benefit is that you don't have to let anyone know you are there when you go to a dove shoot.

I really like the ride, just not the embarrassment of the horrible squeak.
