Electrical problems with radio coming on by itself, interior lights staying on lights blinking, flashers coming on. Problem is the Electronic Control Module (ECM). It gets wet due to where they located it. I had the windshield resealed and issue cleared. Still have some minor issues when it rains hard. Costs quite a bit to have the ECM replaced because the dash must be removed. Try the windshield first. Good Luck.

My '98 Ford Expedition's fuse box need to be replaced because of a leaky windshield. The dealer charged about $700 to replace the fuse box and wanted another couple of hundred to reseal the windshield. That seemed high to reseal windshield so we took the truck to a auto glass place for a re-seal quote of $75. However, they found the glass to be defective and needed to be replaced (at a cost of $265). The "frit" along the perimeter of the glass (where the seal meets the glass) was cracked in a number of places which broke the seal. The glass had also delaminated in a few spots also. The auto glass manager said that even though we are past our warranty period, we should go back to Ford for reimbursement since the glass was clearly defective. He said the truck was unsafe because the glass was literally sitting loose in the frame and could've popped out from any type of collision. We took pictures and are ready to seek reimbursement, but we don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

Every time it rains, the windshield leaks and electrical problems start. The windows don't work, drivers side&back, speedometer quits, battery goes dead, air bag light on &off, overdrive switches on and off and transmission shifts oddly, radio goes on by itself and drains the battery down dead.
