ON 1/5/08 DRIVING AT 60MPH THE "FAIL SAFE ENGINE" LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLES ENGINE SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF STEERING THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TOWED INTO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE FOLLOWING MONDAY CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE A THROTTLE SENSOR. I WENT TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND WHEN I STARTED UP THE ENGINE, IT SOUNDED LIKE A JET ENGINE WITH ALL THE WHINING NOISE IT WAS MAKING, THE TECH SAID "THAT DON'T SOUND GOOD" SO I HAD TO GET ANOTHER RENTAL CAR AND LEAVE IT AGAIN. THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO SAY THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE NOISE. ON 2/2/08 WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, SAME LIGHT, SAME PROBLEM. NO CONTROL OF STEERING WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. THIS TIME DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE AN AIR FLOW SENSOR. GUESS WHAT 2/9/08...ONE FREAKING WEEK LATER, SAME THING. THIS TIME TOWED TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. ALTHOUGH THIS IS UNDER WARRANTY (FOR NOW) THE INABILITY NOT TO STEER THE VEHICLE MAKES THIS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD AND THEY WANT ME TO KEEP THE POSTED, NEXT I PLAN ON FILING A COMPLAINT WITH NATIONAL SAFETY COMMISSION

While driving sown the road doing about 45-50 the throttle body light came on and the engine just shut down. Luckily there were two officers behind me and nothing major happened. After about a few minutes it cranked back up and I was on my way. I looked it up on line and found all kinds of stories about this same type of incident and just about everyone had there truck checked out. And the same thing happened to them again (engine shut-off). Since my check engine light was on previously to this I took it in and got a diagnostic check done. Amazingly they told me everything that was wrong with my truck with the exception of the throttle body light code (if there is one that is supposed to show up). The recommendation was to change the 02 sensors (all 4). So I did, and guess what my check engine light was back on within 55 miles and though I had not stalled again yet, I am still on pins and needles...Not good at all.
