I have a 1996 Ford Explorer with a Switch Solenoid issue. Engine light is always on and so is the flashing O/D light. I'm unable to pass my emissions test unless I fork out $1800 to fix this or $200 to get an extension for registration purposes. With the rising price of fuel, and lack of good jobs, I'm just unable to afford any of this. However, since seeing the number of people with similar issues is very surprising, almost shocking. Ford really needs to step up and resolve this issue....Life really sucks without a complete running car

When i put my car in reverse, about half the time it slips out of gear and makes a horrible loud embarrassing noise, so i have to put it back in neutral for a few secs and try again. One time i was on the highway and it slipped out of gear, this is a horrible problem. I have had almost everything go wrong with this car, i got it with a new transmission, i replaced alternator, spark plugs, battery, radiator, all brakes, and the car is still a piece of junk. But i love it for some reason...
