Ford Motor Company and their dealers do not commit to having safety harness available. Ford Motor Company and their dealers do not want to schedule a customer for service unless they agree to take an extra trip to the dealer to have the cruise control disconnected for an indeterminate amount of months.
Recall notice does not address repairing the root cause of the problem which is the cruise control disengage pressure switch. That switch design is apparently no longer in use by Ford and they should replace it in the affected vehicles.
Ford Motor Company concerns appear to be their liability first. This vehicle has had several safety recall issues (prior cruise control cable bind, Firestone tires) for Ford to still be mis-handling yet another recall campaign. Very poor customer's relation even when safety issues are involved!!!
Action required: a commitment to effect harness installation AND switch replacement faster without having the customer wait for months with a disabled cruise control.
