CarComplaints.com Notes: How can we give the 2001 model year a "seal of pretty good" when it has some problems with a slipping transmission and a known problem with the speed activation control switch? Because it's not the 2002. That's how.

The left rear leaf spring dropped on my Explorer. The left rear wheel well was 33" off the ground and the right front wheel well was 35" off the ground. The truck sat cockeyed. The truck steering was loose and the truck wandered at highway speeds, 50-70 mph. The dealer replaced the leaf spring on 05/03/2001.
