Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: After a half-decade of major transmission problems, Ford seems to have solved all the major defects with the Explorer.

We are happy to say that both the & the NHTSA data indicate no problems whatsoever with the 2010 Ford Explorer.

The engine shut down at only 14,000 miles.there was no warning it just shut down. The dealership that replaced the engine told me there was a safety notice sent to dealerships but they did not have to tell consumers. Ford knows specific engines that could be affected because they were manufactured at specific plants but have not contacted anyone. I was very lucky that day and did not take the highway but a side road instead. I had my 2 toddlers in the car with me and could have caused a major deadly accident.
