I am absolutely disappointed of this car.

This is the 2nd time I am replacing the whole engine, to find out the same issue, connecting rod has started knocking, making clinking noise. last time this eventually resulted in total engine failure in the middle of highway, with engine losing power, lost brake and steering. I was very lucky to pull over safely.

The whole engine was replaced at Km 145000. I spent 5000 putting in a used 95000km engine, after 25000km, again, same problem has happened.

The car has several other issues (rust around doors, back, hood, very slow brake, very dim head lights, noisy cabin, exhaust smell inside cabin, bad gas mileage, etc) I could still tolerate them as long as the car was working.

but now, Ford is a dead brand for me. I will never go back to this brand, ever again.

I am pissed of at Ford for not standing up and taking responsibility for a defective product. While driving my vehicle on the freeway going approximately 65mph northbound on 405 my car's engine stalled in the middle of the highway. Was stuck in the middle of freeway with cars flying on both sides of me for 10 minutes. Both my wife and I were terrified that a car wouldn't see us strike. After a while I was able to start car up and drove to the nearest dealer asap.

They said there wasn't any dtc codes and they weren't able to duplicate problem. They never once mentioned that it could possibly be the throttle body nor the purge valve which I read happened to another ford explorer customer. They didn't mention the tsb nor "customer satisfaction program" for other ford cars with similar etbs. These cars like the 2010 Ford Fusion were given extended warranties to 150k or 10 years.

Total engine fail!!! This is a 40,000 dollar car!

No pre warning, no issues, I had a DR apt and a weird sound when starting.

I went to Dr, came out, weird sound still there. Car started moving sluggish. By time I got home ( which is only 12 miles) The low oil pressure light is on. I checked oil ( oil had been changed 6 times in a year!) There is oil .

Notified local dealer we decided together should be towed. Had towed to dealer. Now dealer is acting like it was neglected. I had my oil changed 6 times in a year!. Ford is CRAP

Engine making bad noise, went to dealership Friday morning & they told me to come back on Thursday of the following week for an appointment! I said, "Do you want me to drive it 'til it quits?" & they said your appointment in Thursday! Friday evening my car was towed there after I was trying to drive away from an intersection when it quit. I'm told an engine is coming from Kansas by truck.

I am in United Arab Emirates and the dealer is the worst ever I can have. Ford Explorer 2013 is my first zero meter car and on 14th day, while driving in midnight with family with two infants, the engine stopped working, burning smell and lots of white smoke from the engine and that's is. Now my problem started for getting the road side assistance till now. Dealer is so much annoying that instead of being humble with me, I received calls saying take the repaired car (new engine installed) or if we return ur money then it will be with a depreciated value of this car. Meaning within 20 days I will lose around 40,000 Dirhams.

After a series of discussions, they promised to give a new car with same specifications but for only available colors. I really don't like those colors which they are offering and intimated me today that offer of replacing with new car will be terminated if I did not selected any of the available colors.

Now instead of giving any compensation to make me happy and to built confidence over ford. I am receiving offers which is making me in corner to get any color of car which me and my family don't like and they close the chapter.

My family faced a hell lots of trouble that night carrying two infants and an hour walk to home (no taxi inky area, where I live). That confidence of safety with ford is lost and I will be having a car which I do not like any more.
