Explorer Sport Trac XLT 4.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 79,896 miles

This creates mold and mildew smells, not to mention it leaks on the rear seat backs. It also will ruin anything left behind your seat or in the seat (like blankets, tools, jackets, etc)

Explorer Sport Trac XLT 4.0L

Ford is aware of the issue and simply says, "replace the whole light assembly". I didn't even check for a price. they should at least replace the gasket free. This happens to F150s also and is a known issue in this instance Ford's service and apathy is unforgivable.

Explorer Sport Trac XLT V6

OK. So I was forced into a corner-I bought a Ford Explorer Sport Trac- Back in 2001-Used and it lasted right up to the moment Ford Claimed that the truck was not safe to drive anymore do to all 6 or 8 Body Mount bushing were completely corroded-Like no rubber left and the cost to fix was $2500 just for the parts and, get this, $3500 for the labor. At this point I had enough with the overall problems and said "It's time to buy again-Payments again!

So for 8 months I looked for a new used Either Honda Ridgeline or a Ford Explorer Sport Trac- Finally I went back to Coral Springs Auto Mall in Coral Springs,FL to see if they could help me out with another vehicle. Low and behold there was this Red Ford explorer Sport Trac coming off a delivery truck to be sold so I asked the sales guy if we could look at this one and take it for a test drive. All good, got the Car Fax report, it is all good-one owner no anything- 54,000miles on it. So I thought to myself this will have to do and I bought it. They gave me $2000 for the truck.

And then when it came to the financing, the money was not working out along with the credit so I told the sales guy I have another vehicle for trade if that helps, a motorcycle in mint rebuilt condition-got slammed on the trade in value- they took it-it was rebuilt mint condition and I was getting pretty tired of the riding in South Florida anyway so I used it as part of the trade. After all was said and done they did me right but the truck never even got serviced or cleaned, like wax and stuff, so I had to go back for an entire day and get all that resolved. So then I drive it back off the lot and was driving home and had to get something from behind my seat, so you have to open the rear door and low and behold there was a puddle of water in the small tray, so I look up and there was and still is water coming down from somewhere in the ceiling of the roof, and here's the kicker, I take my new truck to be serviced this month at Jiffy Lube in Boca Raton, the manager calls me over and asks me if the vehicle had ever been serviced since you had bought it? My response was I have no idea, I had taken it to be serviced, why do you ask. He shows me the radiator fluid-BLACK and brown in color and rust all through-out the radiator then the OIL wicked bad-trans fluid never changed at all and then the Oil cap "Double threaded". Had to buy another one-This day was getting very frustrating- and it cost $408.00 Before I could drive home...Then My wife mentioned that we had to go do something and IT poured-just rain crazy and the water is coming in at such a rate that the tools in the back seat area were soaked.

So I get on-line to see if maybe Ford has a recall on this and they do not-Not even a complaint about water coming into the cab through the windows or anything-so I ask is this just a freak situation or is there a customer out there that has gone through this and if so how do I get it fixed?

Honestly I want to take it to a Ford dealer to see if they can lock this down and get it fixed-cause this should not be happening period.
