Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

problem #2

F-150 XLT 4.9L I6

  • Manual transmission
  • 348,000 miles

The gauge doesn't work at all when using the rear tank. It's a hassle because if the front tank stops working and I can only use the back tank. This is very dangerous because what if I run out of gas on the highway!

I can fill both tanks and run on rear tank till empty, then run on front but the truck will run out of gas ant anytime it wants. It'll cut out on freeway, through intersections or while accelerating after take off through an intersection. I've replace sending unit, and pick up screen. Also changed the fuel regulator and had to have the wiring fixed for it being melted from over heating. The cost was $300.00 but the trouble still continues. This can be a hazard and I now have a check engine that won't go off.
