I don't remember the mileage. It happened in Fall, 2004. The truck was PARKED & OFF. It was basically totalled. Insurance tried to give plain street value, but I produced records for the lift kit, special tires, alarm, etc & got $13k, which was fair high street value. The investigator found a charred SHOP RAG, left there by the Ford Dealership mechanic, between the radiator & the grill. Since then, there has been a RECALL for a defective engine part that causes such fires... The flames came up from the CENTER of the HOOD!!! It was pretty scary.... A big inconvenience for about 2 weeks while it was investigated...
