VIN does not match my truck, trying to fix it but I have no idea what engine parts, electrical, or otherwise to purchase. Supposed to be a 1999 Ford F-150 XLT 4X4. VIN comes up asinvalid and check digit is incorrect. Online search indicates 4 different engines, two transmissions (5spd manual and auto) neither of which are the Ford Motor Co. Experimental transmission that Ford put in that truck. Sold as a 1999 on Ford C.O. mine weighs 1500lbs less than what it should. All failing experimental parts that I have to replace, but dont have a clue what to buy due to "experimental" part #'s. emailed Ford many times for assistance in identifying engine as there are no block castings. No retun call or email. Im a single mom of 2. I dont get child support, alimony, nor do I receive goverment assistance. I cant afford to have my truck torn down.to measure bore and stroke. I cant afford to bring it to a shop. Ive had to learn to work on this thing. Took me 8 months and thousands spent here nd there just to get it to pass emissions because I couldnt find the right parts! $600 in inspection sticker violations later here I am, barely hanging in hoping it gets me to work one more time. Suxh a negligent and dangerous thing to do. Three lives sit in that because thats what we have. I wanted a call from Ford because their VIN isnt valid, or matching. Cowards.

The tire on my truck kept leaking air down over a whole day. I would refill with air the next morning and would try and find where the leak was. Could not find any whole in the tire. When the service station took the wheel off the truck and put air into the tire we could hear air leaking out. We then located a crack in the aluminum wheel. We then located a second crack in the aluminum wheel. We then contacted a junk yard ( D&D, newcomers) about purchasing a used aluminum wheel Ford part # F 81A1007gb, both said that they do not sell this used wheel due to a manufacturing defect. We they ask if we could purchase a refurbished aluminum wheel and both again said that no one would refurbish the Ford part due to defect. I have contacted Ford Motor Company and the local Ford dealer hagerstown Ford service manager tim rowe and they said that they know of no defect. We replaced the aluminum wheel with a new Ford aluminum wheel part # 4C3Z1007kacp. I own a 99 Ford F-350 dual wheel truck 4X6.

I purchased this 1999 Ford F150 truck in June of 1999, within in a few months the truck was registering more miles than I had put on this truck. I returned to dealer and made complaint. I was told they could not find anything wrong. Then I returned to dealer with same complaint on several orther times. Finally I called the dmv office in whiteville nc, they got in touch with the quality Ford co. And then quality Ford replaced the odometer in truck. At this time I was also complaining about truck making a knocking sound. They told me they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. They have always told me this on every compliant I made about the truck. Now today 12-4-00 the truck is still jumping mileage, I had the truck in the shop in November and it was there for two weeks, I finally picked the truck up on 11-28-00 and I was told that they had driven the truck to fayettville nc and that the truck did jump mileage with the driver and that they were going to replace the odometer again, and that they had ordered the odometer and that it would be in on Friday 12-1-00. I contacted them on Monday 12-4-00 and they told me to bring the truck to them on Thursday 12-7-00 and that they would put the odometer in on this day and replace the back window which pours water when it rains, but that they were not going to do anything about the motor knocking because it was just a charecteristic of the motor and it would not hurt the motor. This is not what I payed for. I paid for a new truck and I think I got a lemon. I amm tired of changing the odometer in this truck. I never know the real mileage on this vehicle because they just put whatever they think should be on truck back on the odometer. This is not right to me. Isn, T it against the law to mess with mileage on a vehicle. Please help me I just dont know what to do with this vehicle except to hire me an attorney and get my money back out of this vehicle and get my vehicle back that I traded in on this truck along with.

Ford says +/- 7mph is in tolerance. My odometer is -.15 miles in 10; speed is 3 to 5 mph off. It causes problems with law not to mention milage if I sell truck.

The truck vibrates at 36 to 44 mph. Vibration is worse at 41-42 mph. The vehicle has been returned to the dealer three times. I have contacted david wrightsman, field service engineer, Ford customer division, atlanta regional office. He has driven the truck and states that correcting vibrations in the F150 series is a "black art". Ford has a bulletin out on vibrations. Service bulletin 99-11-1, NHTSA item number: SB606433. I have found out that this problem has exisited for some time. My concern is that the vibration is wearing on unknown components of the truck and will cause a failure at an unpredictable time. The tires are in balance and run true and are not the cause. My dealer has said they will call me if they come up with a solution
