Front wheel fell off, on checking the studs there where two different types.

Two where grade 5, three where grade 10. they should be grade 10. still haven't checked others on drivers side. daughter was driving the vehicle had just pulled into the driveway when the wheel fell off. good job she wasn't on the highway as she had her two small children with her.

is there a recall out? I know of several times this has happened to other people.

wife and kids on the hwy called me at work said the fornt passenger wheel fell off come to find out the rim is aluminium and unscatched and all the lug studs busted off flush with the hub below the rotor. it is not a major break but how do you trust it taking your family somewhere. if something else was in the picture they might not be here to talk about. all of this over junk equiptment not failure to maintaince

Driving 70mph when rear wheel came off. Thought lug bolts came lose (use to working on euro cars) so went to get tire about 300 yards down other side or road. Jack up truck, put tire back on, went around truck to borrow other wheels lug bolts, realized f-150 takes (studs and nuts) not bolts when i removed a nut not a bolt. went back to look at the holes in the rotor that looked like they took bolts and now i realize that all six studs are completely sheared off past the rotors! There are little nubs poking out of the hub. Not a fun day.
