Recall 2004 Ford F-150 power window regulators - the 4 windows on my 2004 F150, in all 4 doors have fallen down. For 4 years, I have tried to get the Ford dealership to repair the window regulators, but they will not replace the regulators as being defective, or under warranty. According to the Ford parts person I spoke to the other day the window regulator part# has changed now 3 times and he stated that Ford never changes the part # unless there is a physical change to the part and he stated they have had "issues" with these regulators thus the change, he stated that the newest version has been beefed up around the plastic clip that keeps breaking off, hopefully the newest versions have corrected the problem but as you can see just by the fact that Ford has changed the part # 3 times they know about this problem and now they need to fix this safety hazard on all of our windows. I am requesting from Ford that they replace all 4 window regulators in my vehicle. My windows should not be inoperable! here are links to a few other owners of Ford F150 who are having this problem. 2004 F-150 problems & complaints www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150/2004/ testimonials 2004 F-150 www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150... door.shtml www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150... Driver & passenger windows fell down into the door while driving on 2 separate occasions. Just heard a loud crack when the window gave out and dropped with full force into the door. Was on a trip driving through rain/hail storm when passenger window gave out. Ford will not replace as it is out of warranty and new parts ordered and replaced.

2004 Ford F-150 super-crew. I was turning left on a major intersection. Heard a loud crack and my driver-side window fell from sight. It startled me enough to make me swerve. Window regulator failure. Incident date - July 27, 2010 repair is expensive. Searching for a cheaper option than the dealer. I have concern of this happening again.

2004 Ford F-150 drivers door window regulator suddenly failed and window fell down inside the door without any way to put window back up while driving down the road. Of course it was raining. After taking door apart I was able to get the window 3/4 of the way up but could not get it to go all of the way. 65K miles on truck. After doing research on this I guess that I was lucky that it lasted as long as it did. Looks like that Ford has a design problem with this part and should be recalled. Definitely a safety hazard when it fails and you can't get or keep window up.

Rear window failure- 2004 F150 there are thousands of these complaints on the net and Ford does nothing. 115 in Arizona and air can't keep up with a window that won't stay up. If my young sons dies because of the heat then it will be to late, then Ford will be paying big time.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 lariat super crew cab. In the past 2 years I have had to have the power switches and regulators replaced in three doors on my truck. The latest being Friday, July 16, 2010. I have looked on numerous sites on the internet and see that this is a common problem with this truck. I called Ford and they say it is not a problem from their standpoint. This is a very costly problem to repair and should be considered a safety hazard.

Failed window regulator. Actually the third over 1 year. First the drivers side window regulator failed, plastic slide became brittle, cable broke away and smacked the inside of the door hard enough that it scared me...I thought I had been shot at by a gun! did not lose control of the vehicle but if I had been in congested traffic, I might have. That was May 30, 2009. Exactly one month later on June 30, 2009 the passenger side front door window dropped out of sight while driving along. Today 6/29/2010, the third window drops out of sight on the driver's side rear door of my FX4. This time, it was raining. I had to drive home and cover the vehicle to avoid more water damage.

2004 Ford F-150 side windows fall down. I have owned this truck less than 1 and a half years and have replaced two regulators to fix this problem. My concern is the danger of these windows when you are traveling along and they just fall down into door. Concerned that a child will be hurt while in the vehicle because there is no warning, the window just falls and no more window. At that point you have no protection from the elements, how do you get safely off the road in a bad rain storm with no driver window or if a child would be in a child safety seat in inclement weather and you would be on a major highway. I know Ford has remade this part several times but is not informing the public of this hazard.

I have now replaced both the front driver and passenger side window regulators on my 2004 F150 lariat. The driver-side window fell in June 2009 @127K mi. The passenger-side windows fell today (6/17/2010) @ 149K miles. The costs of replacing the regulator in each case were as follows: Passenger side: $$539.47 driver side: $500 given all the reported incidents of this that I am seeing reported on various websites and forums, I strongly recommend that the NHTSA. Demand a manufacturer's recall for this obvious quality defect that is: 1) costly to repair 2) creates a dangerous in-car situation when it occurs during operation of the vehicle. I have had all 4 window regulators fail in my 2004 F-150 super crew. One of the 4, fell slowly, but the other three dropped suddenly and violently, causing a me to be startled while driving. Thankfully no accident occurred in any of the 4 incidents. However, two of the incidents occurred in below freezing weather and a rain storm, creating unsafe driving conditions until I could get the vehicle to the dealership for repair. Ford is aware of this problem and refuses to accept responsibility for the defective regulators. They claim it is not a safety issue and there has not been a recall. I beg to differ whether it is a safety issue. The window has dropped suddenly while I was driving, sounding as if the window was shattered. Being startled while driving is a safety concern as well as possibly having to drive with the window dropped in adverse weather conditions.

I have a Ford F150 2004 with only 45000 miles and the windows in the rear dropped will driving and my 8 year old son was sitting in the back seat. This is the second time. I am afraid this will become an extreme hazard and someone will end up hurt. Ford needs to fix this problem... its will...if it hasn't already cost someone to crash and possibly lose a life.
