Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

I have a Ford F150 2004 with only 45000 miles and the windows in the rear dropped will driving and my 8 year old son was sitting in the back seat. This is the second time. I am afraid this will become an extreme hazard and someone will end up hurt. Ford needs to fix this problem... its will...if it hasn't already cost someone to crash and possibly lose a life.

While driving on the freeway, I heard a loud pop (sounded like a gunshot) that made me swerve. After stabilizing my truck, I realized that the cause of the loud pop was a broken window regulator on the passenger side. Then yesterday again I was driving and the other window did the same thing, this has now happened to me 3 times!!!!!!!

Problem power windows, within one week the drivers window fell to the bottom of the door, and next on the freeway the passenger window slammed down, apparently the cables are inferior. So how come no recall for this junk. Ford wants 700 to replace with the same inferior parts. Ford F150. And no I don't live on a dirt road and it's not a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

I have a 2004 F150 crew cab. I have had all windows fall down while driving or finding my truck sitting parked with the window fallen all the way down.. I have had things stolen out of my truck and the interior soaked. I have called Ford customer care every time and they do not give a damn about the faulty plastic window regulators they are having so many problems with. It is ashame they are not being proactive beore something serious happens because of it. If my wife and child were lost and in a bad area and the window fell down with no way to get it back up she would be vulnerable. If a storm came and she was driving in an area with no refuge in the cold with a baby in the car, then what? they are also not willing to help pay for the repair even after the 3rd window had the same problem. I am furious they are not standing behind faulty parts the chose to use and will never buy another Ford again! it is a very, very, very well known problem. At least Toyota is standing behind their screw up. No wonder people buy Japanese. It is very disheartening. Please help do something about this problem before something happens.the failure mileage was 65,000, the current mileage is 80,

I own a 2004 Ford F-150. I have now replaced my fourth window regulator in less than a 1 1/2 year span. I have spent over $12000 replacing them. Two of the windows hadn't been used when they just dropped down and wouldn't go back up. Motor/gear just grinded. Ford needs to do a recall on these regulators.

Both rear windows in my 2004 Ford F150 broke at the same time and the windows dropped to the floor. I have had these replaced twice already and they keep breaking. I was just sting at a light then heard something like a rock hit the side of the truck then the window just dropped it was the cables that hold the windows up snapping. I have three very young children and live where there are extreme temps. I cannot have my young children exposed to these kind of environments. Ford is the only place to get these parts because they know there is a problem with them.

While driving at 70mph in heavy traffic the passenger front window with a startling loud bang (thought I got shot by someone with road rage) fell into the door panel, after a few moments of creative driving I understood what had happened because my drivers side front window had done the same thing 6 mo. Earlier while sitting still at a drive thru.............does someone need to die..........before the stuffed shirts and lawyers who sweep this problem under the rug are called to testify before congress as to when they knew about said problem.......

The driver side door window broke. I was at cvs and rolled the window down and it wouldn't roll back up. My husband took the door apart to get the window up but it won't stay up. We have checked and are having a hard time finding the part. Seems it's a dealer only part, we are checking junkyard because the part is almost $200 for the part, and this is the second time we have had to fix the window in this truck. The truck is a 2004 and I have had it 2 1/2 yrs and had to fix the window twice in that time.

  • 64,800 miles
I own a 2004 F150 and had the driver's side power window regulator fail on my truck as have thousands of other people from what I am reading online. I was traveling 65 miles per hour when my window fell into my door. The day prior I rolled my window up at the post office and heard a crunching or cracking sound as the window reached the top. I too did not think much of it until my window fell in. To correct the problem I paid a Ford dealership in loveland, Colorado $400 to replace the damaged parts in my door. The old part is no longer available as I assume they threw it away. I believe this to be a major safety hazard as at 65 miles per hour in a driving wind a lot of dust/dirt debris entered my truck until I got pulled over on the highway. Luckily I did not get anything in my eyes. Ford should be forced to recall these regulators and refund peoples expense that have already fixed this.

2004 Ford F150 - windows suddenly drop into door while driving. There are thousands and thousands of complaints on the www for this problem - please issue a safety recall this happened twice to me while the vehicle was in motion (while driving). Just trying to find out what made a noise and having my children suddenly pelted by rain and other road debris is a serious, serious, safety issue. I believe I've read that NHTSA has "petitioned" Ford to issue the recall, however, they have clearly stated to their consumers that they will do absolutely nothing unless NHTSA issues a safety recall. Please help consumers have the voice your organization was designed for - to not have manufacturers ignore consumer safety issues that can cause injury and even death. If your organization cannot help, who else can we turn to since the manufacturer is completely ignoring the consumer safety problem"?"

  • 83,000 miles
I have a 2004 Ford F-150 lariat with 83,000 miles on it. About 5 months a cable popped on my driver's side front window and the window fell. Now, 5 months later the drivers side rear window did the same thing. A loud pop then the window fell. Apparently this is a common problem in Ford vehicles and Ford refuses to fix them. Not to mention, it's costly for the owners to fix at $350-$400 per window this is a potential safety hazard and someone should hold Ford accountable.
