problem #3

F-150 Lariat V8

Had a "ticking" noise coming from the front wheels. Found that the 4 wheel drive gears were engaged but only at the tips of each gear. (axle joint and wheel hub.)

Vacuum solenoid on firewall gets wet and looses vacuum which holds 4 wheel drive out until 4 wheel drive is engaged.

Had to replace both hubs, and axle gears, along with ABS sensor.

Ford lists this problem as a DEALER ADVISORY, but no recall. Again thanks NTSB.

F-150 King Ranch 5.4L V8

The engagement shifts the vehicle and produces a severe mechanical noise. In one instance shifting the rear of the vehicle off the road..Ford says "cannot duplicate"..
