Mother-in law borrow my wife's F150 and was pulling into a parking space and heard a big bang sound, which she thought was a gunshot. Then once she turned around found that the Passenger side window had fallen down. She took it to a Ford Dealer and they charged over $400 even though the vehicle had less than 35,000 miles, they said the warranty expired in February. I have found this same complaint on the internet many times and wonder why Ford hasn't done anything about it. I have been a Ford faithful for over 20 years, but we are now looking at replacing this Ford with another manufacturer.

Driver side window has fallen down into door. Warranty has run out on vehicle so I attempted to look into problem myself. After removing door panel and inspecting power window system I have discovered that the problem is simply poor design. I have worked on many power doors for older vehicles and I have never seen a cable pully system held together with plastic parts. The window is to heavy for strain on the system, the plastic part that holds the window in the up position can not hold and as gives out causing the window to fall. This is going to be an on going problem with the only fix coming from Ford, all the plastic parts need to be replaced with metal ones. I like the truck itself however, this problem is unsat. and I would not recommended anybody purchasing a 2004-2006 Ford truck since they all use the same system (I have not looked into a 2007 and newer to see if they might have fixed the problem). I will be returning to purchasing Chevy trucks from here on out.
