The contact owns a 2007 Ford F 150. The contact stated the power steering pump failed and there was power steering fluid leaking from the vehicle. The power steering assist would sporadically fail while driving at various speeds. There were no warning lights to alarm the contact of the failure. The dealer advised replacing the entire power steering rack at the contact's expense. The manufacturer offered to reduce the price of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 45,000.
