Traveling down the highway the vehicle Ford F150 (part of an earlier recall 190v075000 Powertrain - taken to dealership for service) suddenly shifted into first gear, it was hard to control the vehicle for a moment, then the vehicle shifted in another higher gear and I was able to pull over, to the side of the road The computer was reset at the dealer and all appeared to be well when two days later, it did the same thing. There have been issues with the vehicle to go into a flooding kind of stall and the computer screen would go blank. After, stopping and turning off the truck would be ok. This vehicle is a danger to myself and others to drive. I live in a rural area 60 miles from the nearest dealership, where it is difficult to get an appointment and have been left stranded by the roadside, more than once. Fred Shumate, Dixon

While driving, the transmission will randomly down shift into 1st gear and the speedometer will die. The truck flashes a -€œwrench-€ icon. There is no pattern, the issue is intermittent. When the speedometer dies, the transmission will only shift in -€œmanual-€ mode, but will not shift above 3rd gear. The check engine light illuminates and throws codes P0720 and P0722. This indicates an output speed shaft sensor failure. Ford released a Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01 for this issue and offers full repairs. However the repairs were only valid if the truck was less than 10 years old or less than 150,000. My truck is now 11 years old (the issue first was present in May 2022) but I only have 73,000 miles. Ford is unwilling to help because I am outside the warranty by a few months. This is a definite safety concern because I-€™ve been driving on the freeway at 75 MPH in 6th gear only for the transmission to downshift to 1st gear, which causes a violent skid and potential rollover and accident. I live in a severe wintery area, and this issue makes the truck undriveable in the snow and ice. I would like for Ford to run a diagnostic scan, and replace the required components based off their previous CSP. Or, consider this a safety recall and allow me to trade my truck in with no penalties.

My truck experienced some drive train issue. While driving for about 20 minutes (16 miles) on a major highway the speedometer and tachometer dropped to zero and the center display numbers (time traveled, miles traveled, mph, and total truck mileage indicator) disappeared and then became dashes. I was traveling about 45mph while exiting when the truck suddenly came to an abrupt stop and the brakes locked up and I was almost rearended. I was able to get to the side of the road and turned the truck off. The man behind me was not happy.

Well known 6R80 Transmission Molded Lead Frame defective, causing unexpected and dangerous downshift/loss of power, instrument gauges malfunction and both wrench light and engine light come on. Ford somehow avoided recall to save millions, instead issuing Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01, however replacement part is in short supply and dealerships weren't taking appointments then due to Covid pandemic. Following up recently with Ford dealer since symptoms have worsened, apparently program is now expired and they won't fix. We were nearly rear-ended twice attempting to merge onto freeway, so took it to a reputable local former Ford tech, but he can't obtain the part, which is back ordered everywhere, yet apparently Ford has. Putting everyone on notice and hoping it doesn't take a serious accident/avoidable lawsuit for Ford to do the right thing. Pls advise accordingly. Thank You. Desperate in NV...

The drivetrain shifted down to 1st gear while truck was moving at normal city street speeds. I fear the safety of this drivetrain shifting down while traveling at interstate speeds. Would most likely cause loss of control of vehicle. This problem happens at random times and we haven-€™t been able to duplicate it. Once the vehicle is stopped, turned off and back on, it clears the issue. No one has inspected the vehicle at this time and the Ford dealership said they could fix it for $1000. There were no warnings or other symptoms before this failure. This began about March 2022 and has happened 3 times. We had the transmission flushed because the mechanic said that could be the problem. This is still occurring.
