Once again, now the fourth time that this has happened. My wife was with me the last two times that it has occurred. We were on our way to the postoffice when the engine just quit and the picture of the wrench appeared on the dash screen. I pulled over to the side of the street and put the truck in park and shut the ignition switch off and then turned the ignition switch on and the engine restarted. There is no warning when this happens.

I looked in the owners manual and the wrench warning light refers to something to do with the 4 wheel drive. I haven used the 4X4 since winter. I am frustrated and now gun shy awaiting for this to happen again. I am going to try to speak to the owner of the dealership and also contact the Ford Co regional manager for assistance. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

This is the third time that the engine has totally quit while driving. I called the Ford Dealership in Kalispell, MT and asked to speak to the service manager. I was told that he was in a meeting and would return my call later in the afternoon. He never returned my call. I recalled again the next morning and he was in another meeting and left a voice message for him. He called me back and sounded pissed that I called him. He told me to bring it in after 1:00pm. I was at the dealership @ 1:00pm. and a service tech told me he would let the service manager know that I was here.

After about 30 minutes the service manager appeared and told me that he checked the computer and nothing showed up. He appeared to be mad that I was wasting his time. He told me to open the hood up and he casually looked at the engine. He remarked that an electrical wire with a fuse on it was not factory installed. I told him that the wire went to the inside wiring for a dog box and it had been there since I purchased the truck. He offered no explanation or cure. He sent me out the door and told me to keep my service appointment. I left feeling abandoned and worried that my truck would quit and cause an accident.

I was driving on my local street when the engine just quit. It lost all power and a yellow picture of a wrench came on the dash screen. I coasted over to the side of the street, put it in park and restarted the engine. It ran smooth, but I was really concerned that it happen again. I was still awaiting my service appointment with the Ford Dealership.

I was driving on a highway access and just starting to enter US 93 North when the engine lost all power and a wrench appeared on the screen. I coasted over to the side of the highway to avoid being hit by cars following me. I stopped and put the transmission in park, turned off the ignition switch and then tried to restart the engine. The engine restarted and I drove approximately 5 miles with no more problems. I called the Ford Dealer ship and the service lady told me that the first time I could get it in was in 2 weeks, but I could just come in and if they had a cancelation, they could maybe work me in.

I was at one time the proud owner of a 2014 Ford F150FX4 with the ecoboost motor purchased from MSA Ford in Abbotsford, B.C. I bought it to pull a 23 foot travel trailer. For the first 46,000 km, it worked like a charm. Then all of a sudden in 2017, it started developing starting problems. The engine would crank and crank and crank, but not start. The first time it occurred I was on holidays a few hundred kilometres from my home. An excellent road side assistance program, allowed me to have it towed at no expense to the nearest Ford dealership for repairs. It was not the dealership that I bought the truck from. They diagnosed a fuel pump issue and replaced the fuel pump. When I showed up at the dealership it still wouldn't start, so I had to wait while they replaced what they now diagnosed as faulty fuel modulator.

Everything was good for another 1000 km when again, while on holidays about 500 km from home, it started running rough and would start hesitating and bucking if the engine exceeded 2500 rpm. I cut my holiday short and managed to limp home. After pulling into my driveway and unhooking the trailer, i could not start the truck and it had to be towed to the dealership it was purchased from. They also diagnosed a faulty fuel pump and fuel modulator, and proceeded to replace both again.

Meanwhile I did some research on my own and learned about something called a "bus23" defect found in a good percentage of F150's. The location of the fuse servicing the fuel system was prone to shorting out. Apparently in the US there is even a "fix" for the problem, involving enlargement of the fuse box and movement of bus23 to a new location in the fuse box. When I asked the Ford dealership about it, they then admitted there is such a problem but I would have to pay for the "fix" if I wanted it. I paid for the fix, but immediately started talking to the dealership about trading the truck in given by that point I had lost all confidence in the vehicle.

The sales manager told me that he understood, and that when there are "electrical ghosts" in the motor they can be a real problem. They then proceeded to offer me well less the lowest book value for my vehicle, despite having bought the vehicle from them and they had serviced it from day one. The vehicle had exceptionally low mileage and was otherwise in excellent condition. They seemed totally disinterested in taking the truck back on a trade in and I never heard a thing from them despite making my dissatisfaction more than evident. Even the salesman who had sold the truck to me would not return my calls.

I filed a complaint with Ford Canada. They politely received the complaint but 2 years later I have still not heard boo from them. As the warranty on the truck was set to expire in the next 3 months, I decided to trade the truck in on a Toyota Tundra. They gave me a trade in value $10000 higher than I was offered by Ford. That was my first and I assure you, last experience with Ford. I'm not sure if I was more disappointed with the truck or the treatment that I received from the dealership and Ford Canada. I would never recommend any Ford product to anyone that I knew based on my experience.

While driving home from work on the PA turnpike the truck just shut off. I was in a 2 lane tunnel going 75 mph and had no place to go. I could have been killed or killed others. The service guy tells us this was a pretty common problem a couple of years ago. If Ford knew or even suspected they had a problem that could potentially kill their customers as well as others they should have done the right thing and recalled the vehicles. Now we are stuck with a $400 bill! We have only ever owned Fords but his has us changing our minds.

My vehicle shuts down while in drive and while in motion. It will eventually crank back over and start but not without multiple efforts. Have also had it smell like it has burning wiring but nobody can find anything wrong. It's been at the dealership on and off for the past two months without resolution. What do you do with a relatively new vehicle nobody can fix? What good is the extended warranty I purchased if nobody knows how to fix it.
