Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

  • 30,000 miles

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-250. The contact stated that whenever he would rive over a road bump, the vehicle would shake excessively. The failure would occur most profoundly when driving at a speed of at least 50 mph. The manufacturer advised that the failure was caused by improper inflation of the tires. The contact inflated the tires to the specifications recommended by the manufacturer and the shaking became worse. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 39,000. Updated 11/16/10.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-250. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle drove over a bump in the road and began to shimmy and vibrate excessively. The failures occurred whenever the vehicle traveled over rough road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection, but they were unable to duplicate the failures. The dealer suggested that a loss of tire pressure may have possibly contributed to the failures. The failures occurred on twenty separate occasions. The service warranty expired and the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 50,500.
