The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. While traveling 15 mph the contact noticed that the engine had began to run hot and was making a whining noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the head gasket and egr cooler had to be replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 60000.

The manufacturer would not provide any assistance due to the vehicle being outside of factory warranty. The vehicle was not been repaired. The VIN was not available. The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph, the diesel engine overheated with smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was driven to the side of the road. The engine was turned off, and restarted after waiting until the engine cooled down. The vehicle resumed operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The failure was contributed to the oil cooler and exhaust gas recirculation (egr). The vehicle was repaired. The mechanic advised replacement of the oil pump and fuel injectors. The failure mileage was 160,000. The current mileage was 160,200.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. The contact stated that the fuel injection module and relay switch failed. The vehicle would not drive more than 10 mph without black smoke coming from the exhaust. The contact repaired the vehicle. The vehicle had a high pressure oil leak, which led to the failure of the relay switch this repair was resolved under warranty. The fuel injectors were also faulty and were repaired under warranty three times. A mechanic stated that the failures would continue.. the contact is concerned about the safety of her vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 99,970.
