Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

My 2006 Ford crew cab powerstroke turbo diesel has an engine oil cooler and egr/egr cooler problems that keeps the truck from full power up hills and with loads. Extremely dangerous pulling trailer up grade's, it loses power, blows white smoke and becomes unstable. The temp. Between the oil cooler and the egr cooler shuts down the trucks computer, leaving the truck inoperable. Costs to repair $6793. Why has there been no recall on this issue I'm starting to see there are many other complains on this engine design are you waiting for someone to be killed before you do something?

F-350 4WD 8-cyl Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-350. The vehicle would crank, but not start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the oil control module did not have enough pressure to start the motor. The dealer replaced the head gasket. The radio volume turned all the way up intermittently and was replaced. While driving between 5-10 mph in tow haul mode, the transmission would not switch gears when making a left hand turn. The dealer updated the codes for the transmission; however, the failure continued. When the brakes were applied, there was a loss of steering. The failure mileage was 12,000 and current mileage was 34,234.
