The contact was informed that an unknown part needed to be replaced to have the door latch operate as designed. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the passenger's side rear door also experienced a similar failure and was also repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Also, the door ajar warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to springfield Ford Lincoln (50 baltimore pike, springfield, pa 19064, (610) 544-0700), but was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: Cas-[xxx and xxx], but did not assist. The contact stated that the failure was similar to the failure listed in NHTSA campaign number: 15V246000 (latches/locks/linkages). The failure mileage was 65,000. The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. Upon driving out of a parking space, the contact noticed that the door ajar indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact shifted the vehicle into park, exited the vehicle, and checked the front passenger door by opening and closing it; however, the door failed to latch. The contact had to tie the door shut with a plastic strap like material. The contact drove to marshall Ford (1075 w terra ln, O'fallon, mo 63366 (636) 978-3673) where it was diagnosed with a failed door latch. The contact was informed that he would have to pay for the repairs since the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 15V246000 (latches/locks/linkages). The contact mentioned that he experienced a failure with the rear passenger door in September of 2016, where it failed to latch. The vehicle was taken to marshall Ford again and the rear passenger door latch was diagnosed as faulty. The contact stated that the dealer's work order only stated that one of the rear doors was repaired, not all four doors as indicated in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was awaiting a return call from a supervisor. The rear passenger door latch failure occurred on 9/8/2016 and the front passenger door failure occurred on 6/23/2017. The failure mileage was 124,000.
