I bought this car for my son and have brought it to the dealership 5 times, the first 4 times it was still under warranty and they either said they fixed the problem or there was nothing more they could do. When the vehicle was brought in the 5th time, 5 days after the warranty expired, they finally and miraculously discovered the "problem" and said it will cost me $2000. My family and I have spent over half a million on Ford cars and trucks and I recently bought a 2019 Ford and am utterly appalled at how I am treated as a customer. My fight has just begun Ford!
I bought a lemon!! When I test drove my 2014 Ford Fiesta I noticed a hesitating and slight bucking but the girl told me it was normal for that type of car and with the car only having 60,000 miles I didn't think it could be anything too serious.Unfortunately I was wrong!! :( I did love the car and it was affordable for me, I had worked 4 jobs and saved every cent I earned to buy a decent car to take to college. After driving the car for a few days I felt it wasn't normal. I then pursued an online investigation of the car and learned that there was other complaints about the same thing.
We called a Ford dealership and learned that Ford had graciously extended the warranty on the transmission to 100K and I was happy and thought everything would work out hunky dory.....NO!! I was wrong again the faulty transmission had caused the clutches to go bad and needed replacing which was estimated at $1,800 which might as well be a million for me because I just spent my last penny to register and insure it. I am currently calling around to find a lower price but a backyard type mechanic which I might be able to afford won't do it because they say if Ford has a class action and is forced to reimburse people I wouldn't be able to get refunded.
I am soooo stressed, sad....I HATE FORD! My Mom called them because she can be meaner than me and got absolutely no where with them. Why the heck would a car with only 60,000 miles need clutches (honestly I didn't even know automatics had clutches...wth!!) The car had been regularly maintained and serviced throughout it's entire ownership, how is this possible!! Will someone please help me. What should I do with this useless waste of my entire savings??? Signed, SAD Ford owner in Massachusetts.
Update from Jul 11, 2017: I called a different dealership and found the problem WAS covered under warranty, called back the dealership where the car was and got the problem resolved by speaking with someone else. They are going to replace the clutches at no cost under the customer satisfaction warranty. We are very happy, but will still consider selling the car before the 100K is up.
Update from Jul 18, 2017: Update on this...we called the dealership the day before to check on drop off time and was told that THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT!! The literally changed their minds, 3 times. They said they would cover it, then said they wouldn't, then they said they would, then last minute (day before) said they wouldn't and didn't even have the decency to call me!! Now I feel this is no longer with Ford but with this particular dealership! GRRRR... back to square one!
When my car first started having shudder problem they told me it was supposed to do it. I keep taking it back they would do an update. Then finding they put new clutch in and then six month later doing it again and have to wait two month before they get new part
I bought 2014 Ford Fiesta and was told it was a great car but when the car hit 22,000KM it started shuddering. I have them fix it every time I'm in at the dealership but just software update nothing more they will do.
I bought a "certified pre-owned" 2014 Ford Fiesta in February of 2015. REALLY regretting it now, as the clutch/shuddering problem is horrible. I spent way over budget to buy this car, because I thought it was a reliable good purchase. Shame on me for not doing enough research first, as it seems like everyone has this problem. Ford should be forced to give us all our money back, seriously it's that bad!
